What do you think of the Clean Show?

There will be nearly 400 exhibitors at Clean ‘09.  There will also be 43 hours of classroom education available during the 4-day event, including a session with our own Ed Kwasnick (Green Conspiracy: Saving the Environment AND the Bottom Line, 6/18/09 @ 8 am).  We would like to know, with all this to experience…

  • Why are you going this year? or,
  • Why aren’t you going this year?
  • How could the event be more valuable to you in the future?

Please share your ideas and opinions with us.  We will follow up after the Clean Show with comments on the poll results and our experience in New Orleans.  We hope to stir some good conversation about the industry’s biggest event and what the future may hold.

We look forward to hearing from you. If you are going to Clean ‘09, make sure to visit our booth (#3007)!

  1. Michael Gagliano Says:

I will be attending Clean 09 because we are going to be installing a Dryclean / Wet Cleaning operation in our plants this year. I am interested in seeing what is new in this industry.

  2. Marvin Burske Says:

I will not be attending this year. Budgets are tight and we won’t be in the market for new equipment unless there is an emergency. We have also been asked to curtail unnecessary travel.

This event will need to place more emphasis on education in the future as well as possibly having it every 3rd year instead of every other year. I would prefer not to have the meeting in New Orleans. Las Vegas is fine and why not have a midwest location?

  3. bob Grose Says:

I’m going to Clean to see what’s new, and it’s in New Orleans.

  4. Kit Jaskiewicz Says:

I am not planning on attending. Funds are not allocated for a trip to New Orleans because of an expansion of the company.
Remember location, location, location is what matters

  5. Paul Mullen, VP Sales Says:

We will be attending the Clean Show Booth 1829, however we have down sized our booth and the number of people attending. In these economic times we felt that using those resources to keep valuable skilled people employed was a higher priority. Our main purpose for being there is to be available to any of our existing customers that might have specific projects in mind as well as to educate attendees on our new products and improvements that are available to industrial laundry and dry cleaners that will lower their operating costs and make them more competitive and viable for the future. As a final comment we also believe that the Clean show should occur evry 4 years as opposed to the present format. It is a large undertaking and we believe that participation would be stronger if the frequency of the show was reduced.

  6. David Lyday Says:

This is the first Clean Show since being acquired by White Conveyors and we are excited to be joining them in booth 1829. Although attending, we have scaled back as many suppliers have to conserve resources during these difficult economic times. We are focusing our attentions on continuing to personally serve our customer’s needs with the best products and services on a timely, cost effective basis.

  7. Debbie Stanley Says:

We are going to the Clean Show. We will be at booth 4725.
I believe people go to the show to see what new technology is out there.
And to see if they can get a bargain.

  8. Doug Rose Says:

Did you see the June issue of Textile Rental with incoming Chairman, Jeff Wright, on the cover? On page 48, in an interview between Jack Morgan and Mr. Wright, Morgan asks the question, “Is the Clean Show meeting the industry’s needs? Are there changes that would help?” Wright’s response parallels the results of our poll here, pointing out that the show is “a great venue for communication. Networking.”

For the sake of continued discussion, I would like to ask the question of you as well. Post a comment or response as if you were asked the question by Mr. Morgan. Look internally as well - ask yourself, “What are my needs?” We cannot expect someone to satisfy our needs until we communicate them clearly. Wouldn’t you agree?

Networking is clearly a driving force at the Clean Show, Do you have any ideas on how to facilitate networking before, during or after the event? Would you like to learn more about how to network effectively, particularly via the Clean Show?

    Clean ‘09 Recap ~

I want to extend a big THANK YOU to those who responded to our email or visited the website to post a message in the blog or vote in the poll. We had a small but solid response which mirrored our experience at this year’s Clean Show. While we didn’t have the attendance of years past, we were quite pleased by the traffic at our booth. Other exhibitors I talked to were echoing the same satisfaction. It was better than expected, considering the economic climate and lower attendance compared to previous years. I was also impressed to see the number of international attendees as I spoke to folks from Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the UK, the Middle East, and South Korea. Hopefully this will be a good sign for Clean 2010 in Vegas.

We will leave the blog up for a little bit longer to get your continued feedback. Please let us know your feelings as well if you attended the show in New Orleans. I’m interested to see if anyone has suggestions on networking effectively at the Clean Show.

We will have a new email, poll and blog shortly. Stay tuned for our next conversation!
